Unless you're one of the lucky ones, chances are
your grandchildren don't live next door. Here are some fun tips on how to stay
in touch.Mail Call
Even the smallest children love getting letters, postcards and small gifts in
the mail. They certainly know how to tear things open, and hearing news and
pictures from you regularly helps keep you in their life at all times.
Web
Cam
Web cameras are exceedingly cheap (as cheap as $19!) and increasingly easier and
easier to use. Buy a set for you and your child and set up regular web-based
calls. While small children aren't always great on the phone, they love watching
Grandma and Grandpa onscreen, talking and waving and making silly faces. You can
even record your own video greeting to email for your grandchild to watch
anytime.
Digital Photo Frames
There are dozens of digital photo frames, but the best we've found are actually
hooked to your telephone and allow you to upload pictures remotely to have the
child's frame change every day, if you'd like. Check out www.ceiva.com
for the details. We do it both ways with all of our grandparents and grandkids
and they love it!
Visit Often
Of course, nothing can take the place of a real life baby hug. Set aside as many
visits a year as you can to meet up with or visit your grandchildren.
